Last Minute Addition...Spring at The Barnes Arboretum
Share
Last week, I shared a post about my favorite local spots for early Spring floral inspiration. As a bonus, all of these spots are free and (seasonally) open to the public. Well, I’m adding a new one. Despite the winter-like temperatures over the weekend, the grounds of the Barnes Arboretum, located on the campus of St. Joseph's University, are really starting to show the signs of the warmer season. The Arboretum surrounds the original site of the Barnes Foundation. Still an active museum, the building and surrounding gardens are really something to experience. Even though there were only a few flowering trees and spring ephemerals showing their colors yesterday, it was easy to see how stunning it will be in full bloom. I have added a follow up visit to my calendar, looking forward to seeing the the architectural vines framing the wrought iron balconies and the soft purples of the lilac grove.

See you in the gardens!
